So it Goes: Kurt Vonnegut Is Dead

A moment of blog-imposed silence for one of my all-time favorite writers, Kurt Vonnegut, who died Wednesday at age 84. It’s been ages since I read one of his novels – I think the last one was the unmemorable Bluebeard, sometime in the late 1980s – but I devoured his books during my formative years, as an English major in search of inspiration. He provided it, in magical, fantastic doses of dark humor and biting satire. Time to re-read some of his classics that have been gathering dust in a bookcase or tucked away in a box in the attic.
